Frequently asked questions
How do I trace my roof?
Search your address or tap the location button, zoom in until the roof fills the screen, then move the map so the crosshair sits on a corner and tap Add corner. Go round one side of the roof corner by corner. For a pitched roof, trace each side separately with + Side.
What is the “lower edge (gutter)”?
It is the edge where rain runs off. Tapping it tells Panelwise which way that side of the roof faces, which matters a lot for production.
How do I find my roof pitch?
Pick a common value (most pitched roofs are 25–40°), or use Measure with your phone: stand facing the gable end, hold the phone upright and turn it until the yellow line follows the roof slope.
Where do the kWh figures come from?
From PVGIS, the European Commission's solar database, using satellite and weather data for a typical year at your roof's position, angle and direction. Shading from trees and nearby buildings is not included, so a shaded roof will produce less.
How does the quote check work?
Enter the quote's total price, system size (kWp), number of panels and promised yearly output. Panelwise expects the quoted system to use the sunniest sides of your roof first and compares the promise with that estimate. It also shows the price per watt and what each solar kWh costs over 25 years compared with your grid price. It does not judge local market prices.
Does it work for balcony solar?
Yes. Create a balcony project, set the panels, wattage and inverter limit, and measure the direction and tilt with your phone. Output above the inverter limit is cut hour by hour, as it would be in reality.
How do I cancel or restore a subscription?
Cancel in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions at least 24 hours before renewal. On a new device, use Restore purchases in Panelwise Settings with the same Apple Account.
