Panelwise Privacy Policy
Panelwise lets you trace your roof on a satellite map, estimates how many solar panels fit and what they would produce, and compares an installer's quote with that estimate. This page explains what happens to data. The short version: your projects stay on your device, there is no account, and the only thing that leaves the device for the estimate is a map position and the panel angles.
1. What stays on your device
Roof outlines, project names, addresses you searched, your electricity prices, quote details and generated PDF reports are stored only on your iPhone or iPad. We have no server that receives them. Deleting a project, or the app, removes them.
2. Solar estimate (PVGIS)
To estimate production, the app sends a request to PVGIS, a public service of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. The request contains the approximate position of the roof (rounded to about 10 metres), system size, panel tilt and direction, and a loss percentage — nothing that identifies you, and no address, name, price or quote. Like any web service, PVGIS receives your IP address with the request. See the PVGIS website for its terms.
3. Maps, location and sensors
- Maps and address search use Apple Maps. Apple's privacy policy applies to those requests.
- Location is used only when you tap the location button, to centre the map. It is not stored or sent to us.
- Camera is used only in the pitch finder, as a live view to line up your roof. Nothing is recorded or saved.
- Motion and compass readings measure roof pitch and balcony direction on the device and are not sent anywhere.
- Notifications: if you start a free trial, the app may ask to send one local reminder before the trial ends. No push server is involved.
4. Purchases and RevenueCat
Panelwise Pro is sold through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details. To confirm what you have bought, the app uses the RevenueCat SDK. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier created by the app, together with App Store transaction data. If you arrived from an Apple Search Ads campaign, Apple's attribution token (AdServices) is also passed to RevenueCat so we can see which campaign led to a purchase; this does not track you across other companies' apps and does not identify you. RevenueCat gives us aggregated purchase statistics. None of this includes your roof, address, prices or quotes. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
5. No analytics, no ads, no tracking
Panelwise contains no analytics SDK, no advertising and no third-party trackers. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share data. We do not pass your details to installers.
6. Children
Panelwise is made for adults planning a home energy system and is not directed at children.
7. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Questions: [email protected]. Because we hold no account or project data, there is nothing on our side to look up, export or delete.
