Tradie Cert is an iPhone and iPad app for Australian electricians and refrigeration technicians. You fill in a certificate on site, the customer signs on the screen, and the app produces an A4 PDF that you send from your own email account. This page describes what happens to the information you type into it. The short answer: it stays on your phone. We run no server for this app, you never create an account with us, and nothing about your jobs, your customers or your business reaches us.

1. No Account, No Sign-In

There is no registration, no login and no user profile held by us. Tradie Cert never asks for your name, your ABN, your licence number or your email address in order to be used — the business details you enter are printed on your certificates, not sent anywhere. Because there is no account, there is also nothing on our side to sign in to, lose or have breached.

2. What Is Stored, and Where

Everything the app creates is written to the app's private storage on your device (the iOS app sandbox) and stays there. That includes:

  • your business letterhead: business name, address, phone, email, ABN, electrical contractor and electrical worker licence numbers, and the logo image you pick;
  • the technician signature you save once so it can be applied to new certificates automatically;
  • your customer list, including any site addresses and contact details you add;
  • every certificate you start or issue — the field values, the finished PDF, and the customer's on-screen signature captured as an image.

Certificates are kept on the device on purpose, so that you have them for the record-keeping period that applies to your work (five years in the wording used inside the app). Tradie Cert has no cloud sync and no server-side backup: if you delete the app, that data goes with it unless you have an iOS device backup, and moving to a new phone is a matter of restoring your device backup. Deleting a certificate inside the app removes it and its PDF from the device.

3. Sending a Certificate

When you send a finished certificate, Tradie Cert opens the iOS mail composer with the PDF already attached, or the standard iOS share sheet if you prefer another route. The message is sent by your own mail account through your own mail provider, and the office copy goes as a blind copy from the same account. We are not a party to that email: it does not pass through any system of ours, and we never see the recipient, the PDF or the message. Once it leaves your device it is governed by your mail provider's privacy policy, or by the privacy policy of whichever app you choose in the share sheet.

4. Purchases and RevenueCat

Tradie Cert Pro is sold through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple takes the payment and we never see your card details or your Apple ID. To check whether your Pro access is active, the app uses the RevenueCat SDK. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier generated on your device and the App Store receipt or transaction data needed to validate the entitlement. It receives no name, no email address, no licence number and nothing from your certificates. What we get back is aggregated purchase statistics — how many subscriptions are active, for example — which say nothing about you individually and nothing about how you use the app. RevenueCat's own policy is published here.

5. Network Use, Analytics and Advertising

The only connection Tradie Cert makes on its own is the purchase-status check described above. Filling in a certificate, signing it and generating the PDF all happen on the device and work without reception. The app contains no analytics SDK, no advertising, no third-party trackers, no crash-reporting service and no tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers, because there is nothing collected to sell or share.

6. Photos and Camera

If you add a logo to your letterhead, iOS asks your permission and hands the app the single image you picked. It is resized and stored with your business profile on the device. Tradie Cert does not browse your photo library, and it does not use the camera.

7. Third Parties You Deal With, Not Us

Your certificates contain other people's details — the customer's name, the site address, their signature. You collect and hold that information as the tradesperson issuing the document, under your own obligations; we never receive it and cannot act on it. Where you lodge or notify work separately — for example through the network operator's eNotice system in Western Australia, or with TechSafe in Tasmania — you are dealing with those bodies directly. Tradie Cert only reminds you that the step exists.

8. Children

Tradie Cert is a tool for licensed trades. It is not designed for or directed at children, and it collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the new version replaces this page and carries a new date at the top.

10. Contact

Privacy questions about Tradie Cert can be sent to [email protected]. Please note that since nothing leaves your device, we hold no record of you to look up, export, correct or delete on request: your data is in your hands, on your phone.
