Reminders
A reminder didn't arrive
- Check that notifications are allowed: Settings › Notifications › Recurring.
- A Focus such as Sleep or Work can hold notifications back. Add Recurring to the allowed apps of that Focus.
- Look at the routine's Remind at time. By default you get one reminder on the due day; turn on Remind daily until done to be reminded every day until you tick it off.
- Several routines due at the same time arrive as one summary notification, not one each.
- iOS lets an app keep a limited number of reminders waiting, so with a long list Recurring schedules the nearest ones and tops up the rest each time you open the app.
What do the buttons on a reminder do?
Done marks the routine done today without opening the app. Tomorrow and In 3 days snooze it.
The countdown
When does the next date start counting?
Each routine has one of three modes, chosen when you add or edit it:
- After done (the default): the count starts again on the day you tick it off. Change the sheets three days late and the next change moves three days later too.
- On schedule: keeps a fixed calendar rhythm, even if you were late once — handy for things like a monthly flea treatment.
- Once: a single reminder after the interval, then the routine is archived.
Tap the ring next to a routine to mark it done; an undo button appears for a moment in case you tapped by mistake.
Household
How do I share a list with the people I live with?
Tap the Household button on the main screen, type your name (it is shown as “done by …” on the history) and choose Invite household. Send the invitation with Messages, Mail or a link. Sharing is part of Recurring Pro.
Sharing runs on iCloud, so you and everyone you invite need to be signed in to iCloud and have Recurring installed. When anyone ticks a routine off, the countdown restarts on everyone's phone once iCloud has synced, usually after a short moment.
How do I remove someone or leave a list?
Open Household and tap Manage people (or Manage or leave on a list someone shared with you).
Widgets and Siri
The widget has no Done button
The Done button on the Next up widgets comes with Recurring Pro. If you have Pro and the button is missing, open the app once and use Restore purchases in Settings, then wait for the widget to refresh. You can also say “Mark … done in Recurring” to Siri, or add it in the Shortcuts app.
Recurring Pro
I bought Pro but the app asks again
Open Settings in Recurring and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought with. Family Sharing members get Pro the same way.
How do I cancel the subscription?
In the iPhone Settings app: your name › Subscriptions › Recurring, or Manage subscription in the app's Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or the current year ends. For a refund, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data
Can I export or delete everything?
Recurring has no export file. Your routines sit on your devices and in your own iCloud, which is also how they move to a new iPhone. To delete everything, delete the app, then go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › Recurring and delete its data. More in the privacy policy.
